Hark, What Joyful Sounds!

Christmas is coming and the Damons are getting ready for their famous Christmas Carol concert!

Here’s our new Christmas poster!

We will be back in the White Hill Centre on Sun 11 Dec at 7.30 for a programme of Christmas music for the choir, seasonal readings and several audience carols including a special anniversary finale. It will be a particular delight to be able once again to offer you hot mince pies and mulled wine (other drinks will also be available!). And perhaps consume one or two mince pies ourselves…

The music for choir will be our usual wide-ranging mix – serious and popular, old and new, familiar and unfamiliar.  It will include the following:

  • O Radiant Dawn by James MacMillan
  • Advent Calendar by Simon Beattie
  • The Truth from Above arr Ralph Vaughan Williams
  • The Shepherds’ Cradle Song by Karl Leuner arr Charles Macpherson
  • Tomorrow shall be my Dancing Day arr David Willcocks
  • Nesciens Mater by Jean Mouton
  • Good-will to men, and peace on Earth by Dobrinka Tabakova
  • Gabriel’s Message arr D Willcocks
  • The Huron Carol arr Eleanor Daley
  • Behold that Star by Bob Chilcott
  • The Three Kings by Jonathan Dove
  • Love came down at Christmas by Richard Lloyd
  • Benedicamus Domino by Peter Warlock
