What Cheer!

Christmas is coming and the Damons are getting ready for their famous Christmas Carol concert!

We will be back in the White Hill Centre on Sun 8 Dec at 7.30 for our Christmas Concert, What Cheer!

The music for choir will be our usual wide-ranging mix: serious and popular, old and new, familiar and unfamiliar interspersed with seasonal readings.  It will include the following:

  • Good-will to men by Dobrinka Tabakova
  • In the stillness by Sally Beamish
  • The Rose in the Middle of Winter by Bob Chilcott
  • O Magnum Mysterium by Pedro de Cristo
  • Santa Baby arr Simon Beattie
  • The Blessed Son of God by Ralph Vaughan Williams
  • All hayle to the days Trad arr David Cooke
  • Noe, noe by Antoine Brumel
  • Quaeramus cum pastoribus by Jean Mouton
  • Shepherds Arise Trad arr Andrew Watts
  • What Cheer? by William Walton
  • Stille Nacht by Franz Gruber arr for 10 voices by Roderick Williams

And, never fear, there will also be ample opportunity for you to sing along with some traditional carols too!

For more information, download the programme. Copies will also be available at the concert.

It will be a real delight to sing for you again and to offer you hot mince pies and mulled wine (other drinks will also be available!). And perhaps consume one or two mince pies ourselves…

We will love to see you there!
